The work deals with dark thoughts of control, reflecting my state of mind. The garments come alive themselves and force the wearer to behave in a certain way. Research included studying models moving in strange patterns, inspired by the Japanese theatre performance Butoh, also described as “the dance of utter darkness”. The design language was constructed around placing pockets in ill placed areas, to influence movement. The tragic poetic undertone is felt in each look with an embroidered poem detail, reflecting the state of the wearer, only visible when wearing the garment.
